ErrNET Overview ErrNET is the latest in document proofreading technology. This program runs on our servers, and is
updated weekly with new spellchecker terms, and error-check algorithms. There is no software to install, update,
or
maintain. ErrNET proofreads 300 pages per minute, so turnaround time is less than a minute for most documents.
ErrNET provides detailed explanations for each error that it detects. Writing will improve by using this
product.
Our clients include authors, publishers, publishing services, colleges and universities, research institutions,
and
corporations. ErrNET Features Grammar Checking ErrNET checks for grammatical errors such as incomplete sentences, subject/verb agreement, use of coordinating conjunctions, preposition use, and missing articles and words. Spell Checking The ErrNET spell-check database contains over two million terms. By comparison, the spellchecker of popular word processors includes about 150,000 words. In addition, any word not recognized by the ErrNET spellchecker is marked one time in the manuscript to alert the author to double-check the spelling. Unrecognized terms are added to the ErrNET spell-check database once the correct spellings of the terms are verified. The ErrNET spellchecker also verifies website addresses (URLs). It “activates” URLs within the text and confirms that they link to active websites. Style Checking ErrNET marks only objective writing style errors. These errors include awkward writing, verbose phrases, redundant phrases, word choice, and word order. ErrNET style suggestions help to improve writing clarity, conciseness, and fluency. Punctuation Checking ErrNET marks punctuation errors, and suggests punctuation changes to improve writing clarity and fluency. The types of punctuation errors detected by ErrNET include use of commas, capitalizations, hyphens, quotation marks, parenthesis, and apostrophes. How it Works The process is simple and takes only minutes. ErrNET runs on our servers so there is no need to install software or updates. The program uploads documents through your web browser. ErrNET then checks for errors, marks them in your document, and generates an error report showing the total number and types of errors. The error report and annotated document are then downloaded by the user. Explanations and suggestions for each error are listed in the detailed report and are displayed in pop-up windows in the annotated document. ErrNET Reports ErrNET does not make corrections in the document but generates two reports, an annotateddocument and an error report. In the annotated document, the errors are underlined throughout the text and the explanations and suggestions for each error are displayed in the right margin. The error report summarizes the total number and types of each error in a bar graph and lists each error, its location, and the ErrNET suggestions. System Requirements
Security ErrNET is a secure application. The ErrNET server has advanced SSL encryption to protect the privacy and safety of the connection from your browser to our server. In addition, we do not store your files or credit card information. Updates ErrNET is updated weekly. Updates include new spellchecker terms, new error-check algorithms, and performance improvements. |
